I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We went up to St. Louis to spend the holiday with my sister and family.  In a matter of four days we drove 12 hour drive there and back, had Thanksgiving day, played in the snow, hosted my sister's baby shower, Jackson cut a new tooth, set up Amelia's nursery, bought St. Louis out of everything pink, and managed to decorate my sister's house for Christmas. Wow, no wonder I'm so exhausted!

With that said, I was a little lazy with pulling the Pear Tree winner. Jackson was way too tired last night, so I used random.org instead. Don't worry, I have many pictures of sweet Jackson to post later to make up for it:)

Y'all, I cannot begin to thank you for all of your words of wisdom and encouragement. Between Jackson's health and our nanny situation, you've been great! I love this little internet friendship we have going on here:) Seriously, it's amazing.

50 Free Shutterfly Christmas Cards

The countdown to Christmas and the list making has official begun at the Wilson's! And at the top my list right now is our family Christmas card. I found a precious smocked Christmas long tail for Jackson today, on clearance, for $10. Tis the season, right:)

So now all I have to do is find a card that's just as precious and get a family photo, ha! Thankfully, Shutterfly is making the card part easy.  They have tons of cute photo card designs that all fall within my budget.  We send out over 100 Christmas cards, so I have to have a card that's affordable for us!

I have my eye on a few layouts, but you'll have to wait till Christmas to see which one I go with:)  My goal this year it to find a layout that will allow for some of our friends/family to keep our picture after the holidays.  I just hate throwing away cards at the end of the year, so I started clipping out the photos and saving them a little longer.

Okay y'all, life is seriously crazy around the Wilson household. It's a spooktacular giveaway!

Why hello there friends! Have you missed your Wilson family?!? We have certainly missed all of you:) Where did we go, you ask? Well I know it's hard {for me} to believe, but I graduated from high school 10 years ago. June Giveaway and more!

We're already one week into June and I'm just now getting around to posting this month's Pear Tree Greetings Giveaway! Crazy how time goes by so fast. Hopefully y'all enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

My grandmother had a really good couple of days, so it was nice to visit with her. Hospice told us that she only had a few days to live last week. God works in mysterious ways and he must not be ready to take her from us just yet.

I spent Sunday afternoon shopping with my mom, which we don't get to do much of anymore. I laid Jackson down for a nap while Mr. was working from home. I told him to call me when Jackson woke up - and he did - four hours later! I think Jackson must be cutting another tooth. Talk about a long nap!

In other news, I decided to list us on Top Mommy Blogs, under Working Mommy Blogs. I have a lot more time to devote to blogging now that Jackson goes to bed so early. Birthday Invitations & $50 Pear Tree Giveway

I'm kind of a sucker for good design, nice paper and a pretty pattern. I work at an advertising design firm, which means that I'm surrounded by design everyday. From my perfect wedding invitation to Jackson's birth announcement, I've wanted nothing but the best.

I've been brainstorming the perfect design for Jackson's birthday invitation for months now. I knew that I wanted something simple. Something that captured his sweetness and personality. Something that in my mind, was Jackson.

So, on a pretty night about a month ago, the stars aligned. The sun and lighting was perfect. Jackson was in an awesome mood. And I finally saw the invite in my mind. We were actually outside blowing bubbles. Jackson was a sticky mess. I stripped him down to his diaper and we continued to play. Then it hit me, the perfect idea for his invite. I ran inside and grabbed his birthday hat and started shooting away.











About a hundred pictures later and many hours of searching for a card design, I came up with this. And for me, it is the perfect invitation for my baby's first birthday.


I'm still not sure how it's possible that my baby is turning one in a few short weeks. Seriously, where did the time go?!?

Over the past year I've learned that there's nothing more breathtaking then breathing in that sweet baby smell. The dishes will wait for me while I stare at my sleeping baby and hold him tight long after I've nursed him to sleep. Some mornings, being to work on time is over-rated. Running back inside for one more kiss and wave bye-bye makes my day. I've learned to slow down and play, laugh, and cuddle - because before I know it, I'll be planning out Jackson's graduation announcement!
