17 weeks

The weeks are starting to go by much faster, I can't believe how close we are to the half way mark! Lately everyone has been asking me what I think about the sex of Baby Wilson. To be completely honest with you, I haven't the slightest feeling one way or another. In the same night that I dream about a baby boy, my very next dream is about a baby girl. A lot of people think I look like I am carrying a girl. Here are my first belly pics at 17 weeks. What do you think, boy or girl? Only 17 more days until we know!!!

Practice Makes Perfect

Like most men, Mr. Wilson doesn't have a lot of experience with babies. In preparation of Baby Wilson we thought it would be a great idea to offer to babysit our nephew, Clayton, a couple of Friday nights ago. Mr. Wilson and I had so much fun with Clayton, we decided to make it a tradition - with his parent's permission of course!

So on the first Friday of the month, Clayton will come and stay with us for the night. Clayton's parents are loving the idea of a monthly date night, and are looking forward to returning the favor when Baby Wilson is born. It is so exciting to have a baby in the house, we can't hardly wait! Here are some pics from our first night with Clayton.

Long overdue updates!

>> Friday, January 9, 2009

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I can't believe almost a month has gone by since my last posting. Here are some long over due updates from the past month.

At 11 weeks exactly, December 14th, I woke up around midnight in the most server pain I have ever felt in my life. I had kidney stones about 4 years ago, and this was worse. I won't go into the nasty details, but I must say that Mr. Wilson wins husband of the year for taking such great care of me. The pain was in my lower back, only on the right side. I couldn't walk or stand, it was very scary. Mr. Wilson put me in the car and we went straight to the hospital. I spent the night in the emergency room, and by about 5 o'clock in the morning I seemed to be doing better. The baby was fine, we had two ultrasounds to confirm. I was released to go home...

About an hour after we got home I woke up having another episode, only this time it got worse. We called my doctor and he had me come in to see him. The "episode" had passed, so it was hard for him to tell the amount of pain I had been in. I still couldn't walk or stand, and was very dehydrated from vomiting, so he admitted me into the hospital.

For three days they kept me in the hospital and tested me for everything they could. My ob/gyn and fertility specialist could never get to the root of the problem. It could be the pregnancy, but the baby was doing great. It could be kidney stones, but they would have passed by that time. It could be that my ovaries are still extremely large... the list went on and on. Once the pain was manageable, and the episodes stopped I was sent home with a lot of medicine.

I have finally felt good the past couple of days. I went for my first walk last night and actually made it without being carried home. I haven't taken any medication this week, which is really exciting for me. I went to the doctor yesterday and the baby is growing and is very active, the heartbeat was 140 bpm. We will find out the sex of little peanut on Feb 12th. I cannot wait to find out if Baby Wilson will be little Olivia or Jackson!

Our holidays were really nice and relaxing. I didn't do too much besides laying around and staying off of my feet. We had three Christmases here in Louisiana and drove up to St. Louis for the fourth. After a week out of work for my back and then two weeks out for Christmas and New Years I am having a hard time getting back in the swing of things!

I will leave you with a photo from one year ago. Our nephew is celebrating his first birthday today!
