Christmas Day

>> Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Christmas morning Mr. made cinnamon rolls from scratch and we drank coffee (with yummy Bailey's) and sat by the fire until Jackson woke up. My parents and grandma came over to open presents and spend the day playing with Jackson and his new toys:) We were even able to Skype with my sister and dad's family.

We got a bike trailer for Jackson, so Jackson was getting used to his new helmet!

Christmas afternoon we headed over to Mr.'s dad's house for Christmas with the Wilson's.

A few more Christmases to go...

Christmas Eve

>> Monday, December 28, 2009

I have to start this post by saying that our first Christmas as a family of three was amazing and more special than I ever knew it could be. Christmas Eve kicked off our Christmases (Mr. and I both have divorced parents, so we have a lot of them). We spent the day at home finishing up the holiday preparations. That evening we went to a children's service at a church and Jackson was so good! I am hoping that we can start taking him to church regularly. The end of the service was candlelight and we sang Silent Night. Mr. and I held our son and cried tears of joy.

After church we headed to Mr.'s mom and step dad's house to eat and open lots of presents. Mr. got a bike (his dad got us a bike carrier for Jackson), we got a video camera and Jackson got tons of toys!

We came home and Jackson wore his very first Christmas pajamas and took pictures under our tree. He is our gift from God.

The first gift of Christmas

>> Wednesday, December 23, 2009

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is reading the book Polar Express. As a child we had the book on tape and we would gather around the living room and listen to the story. We even had the jingle bell, the first gift of Christmas! Still to this day we chant "The First Gift of Christmas" all season.

I say this because this year I received the first gift. This year my gift was from God and my gift was the most special gift of all. My gift made me a mom, a momma, a mommy! Some days I have to pinch myself because I just can't believe my dream came true. I drove home from work yesterday and cried, actually I sobbed. I find myself getting wrapped up in things that just don't matter and not focusing on my gifts (Mr. and Jackson). It's so easy to forget just how special each and everyone of us are. We are all gifts from God to someone. As you are surrounded by your family and friends this holiday season be sure to tell them just how special they are to you!

Merry Christmas!

Love,
Mamma Wilson

Lightroom

>> Friday, December 18, 2009

I happen to be a very lucky girl who works with some awesome people. One of these people installed Lightroom on my computer. I've had all of about an hour to play around with the program, but here are some of Jackson's first bite photos edited using this amazing program. If you're interested, mycharmingkids.net is giving away a copy of the program - go check it out!

First Bites

>> Tuesday, December 15, 2009

At Jackson's 6 month check up Dr. N said that we could start feeding Jackson cereal when I was ready. I have to admit this was a really hard thing for me - it just felt weird feeding my baby something that I didn't make, that didn't come from my body. I know this is crazy, but hey, I'm just saying it was a hard thing for me to get over... but I did.

I decided to pick up a box of cereal over my lunch break yesterday and I had no idea there would be so many choices! I have no clue how formula mommies pick, that part of the isle was even more overwhelming. I finally had to close my eyes and just pick one. (For those of you that care, I picked Gerber solid grain cereal). I did bring home a box of oatmeal too, just to be sure I bought the right thing. I talked to a couple of my mommy friends I learned to save that for later!

So last night I mixed the cereal with my breast milk and Mr. Wilson and I fed Jackson his first bites. I will let the pictures tell the rest of story... Please note, we do have a high chair we just haven't taken it out of the box yet... we'll need to do that soon!
Sitting on the counter, getting ready!

Hey momma, what's that?!?

Sorry I asked, I'm not so sure about this...

but I want more!

Yum yum yum

Momma I can do it...

Please one more bite?!?

Last bite...

Oh no, I ate the bowl clean

Time to get clean, I made a mess!

Christmas Ornaments

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Christmas decorations. A Christmas tradition Mr. Wilson and I started when we first started dating was to get a new ornament every year. We try and pick up an ornament when we travel to new places, but most of all the ornament should mean something special to us. Here are a few of our favorites:
Our first trip together - skiing in Canada, December of 2004

Our first trip to Disney together - 2006

Our first Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. - 2007

Our trip to my sister's wedding - 2008

Jackson's LSU ornament - 2009

Jackson's first Chrismtas ornament - 2009

Where did my baby go?!?

>> Friday, December 11, 2009

Jackson is really at such a fun age. His laughs and smiles melt my heart and his love fills the house. But like every mother, I feel like time is slipping by so fast. My baby is going to be crawling and walking and leaving for collage in a blink of an eye!

Rolling Jackson - He started out in the middle of the blanket!

Standing Jackson - Good morning:)
