Fat Tuesday

>> Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Mardi Gras is over and I am in serious need of a vacation or long nap! Between New Orleans on Saturday, the King's lunch and after party on Sunday, and the parades and ball last night I am totally exhausted. It was all worth it though, Mr. Wilson and I had a great Mardi Gras as usually. We were really happy that the weather was so gorgeous yesterday. I was even able to get a little much needed sun on my face. Baby boy decided to start the day nice and early with a couple hours of serious movement. From kicks to flips, he was quit a busy little boy! I think he was having a little Fat Tuesday party of his own:)

My maternity formal actually turned out to be very pretty!

21 weeks and Happy Mardi Gras

>> Monday, February 23, 2009

Baby boy is now more than half way here and I am feeling him move more and more everyday. My sister and her husband came down from St. Louis for Mardi Gras weekend and we had a great time. However, pregnant and sober on Bourbon St. isn't something I would do again. My sister got to feel baby boy, and couldn't believe how huge I was. I couldn't believe it either after seeing pictures of myself. I really need to get walking, my chin looks like it is 21 weeks with twins!

Here are some pictures from our weekend in New Orleans and Lafayette. More pictures to come after actual Mardi Gras tomorrow!

We decided on the nursery bedding - A to Z won hands down!

Kicks for Daddy

>> Tuesday, February 17, 2009

This morning Baby Boy decided to wake me up about 30 minutes before my alarm went off. He must have been doing flip flops in there or something. I woke Mr. Wilson up and told him to give me his hand... and for the first time he was able to feel our son kicking and flipping around. I'm still getting used to feeling his movements. Its like an out of body experience, but I love it!

Valentine's Weekend

Mr. Wilson and I had a very special Valentine's weekend. Friday night I had to attend an awards program with my agency. In the past Mr. Wilson has always gone to the event with me, but this year spouses were not invited. We we a little bummed about this, but it wasn't a big deal.

When I got home, late Friday night, I found Mr. Wilson sitting on the couch with every candle in the house lit, roses and gerber daisies everywhere. He also had a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries sitting out for the two of us. *Don't worry, I only had two sips of champagne. We sat on the couch and talked while he rubbed my feet until 3:30 in the morning. It was so nice to really catch up with each other and reconnect. I don't know the last time we talked that late into the night. Mr. Wilson also had the sweetest card for me. I can't wait to raise our son together and make him a wonderful man, just like his daddy.

We woke up Saturday and spent the day looking at nursery bedding. I'm not going to lie, baby boy bedding just isn't as cute as baby girl bedding. We didn't find anything that we loved in our local stores. I ordered some bumper pads from Pottery Barn Kids. Hopefully, one of the three I ordered will work. Saturday night we went to a Mardi Gras parade with our family. Sunday we started cleaning out Baby Boy's room, it is currently Mr. Wilson's LSU man room, so we have some work to do before it can be transformed.

Here is the bedding I ordered, I'll let you know if we end up using any of these!

It's a BOY!!!

>> Thursday, February 12, 2009

Baby Wilson is an all American baby boy! Mr. Wilson cried, danced, jumped up and down - it was a very exciting morning. Baby boy is measuring a few days ahead, so my due date has been moved up to July 2nd. His heartbeat was 140bpm and he weighs 12 oz., big boy!

Back pain

>> Monday, February 9, 2009

I didn't sleep very well last night and started having some minor back pain again this morning. Around lunch time I decided that I should call my doctor just to let him know. The pain is nothing compared to what it was the last time, just enough to notice and make me nervous. My doctor had me come in today just to check me out.

I am measuring 19 cm, not sure what that means. My blood pressure was a little high, but he noted that is probably because I have never weighed this much before and my body is just adjusting. I have a rash on my tummy, and it itches like crazy. My urine test came back good, so he thinks that the pain is likely due to my enlarged ovaries and cysts. We waited to do the ultrasound on Thursday, and depending on the size of the cysts, I may need laproscopy to have them removed. Baby's heartbeat was 146 and was moving around a lot, shouldn't be too much longer before I really start feeling peanut.

Updates

Mr. Wilson and I had such a nice weekend, I am not ready for it to be over! We had our nephew for our first Friday of the month night. He is such a good baby, we just love him to pieces. The weather was so nice here the rest of the weekend, we went for walks, cooked a lot and tried to get some sun on my pasty white face.

This week is the big week we find out the sex of our little peanut, and I still don't have any feeling one way or another. We did think more about baby names. I think we will stick with Jackson if its a boy. But, we are thinking Matilda Jayne (my great-grandmother's name) "Tilly" or "Mattie" for short, Olivia Jayne, or Hadley Jayne for a girl. Originally we loved Olivia and were set on that name, but we decided that the other two needed to be considered too.

Here are some pictures from Saturday before we went to a crawfish boil, 18 weeks and 6 days.

18 weeks and counting

>> Monday, February 2, 2009

Only 9 more days until we find out what "Peanut" is and I can't hardly stand the anticipation! I have been feeling really good the past week, and have started to feel little flutters. I love when I feel them, I just wish they happened more frequently. It seems like just when I feel them enough to really know that its the baby, they stop. I know they will get stronger and more frequent in the upcoming weeks, and I can't wait. I had a pregnancy massage on Saturday and it was lovely! They had a pillow type thing for me to lay on, with holes for my belly and breasts. I think I may invest in one of those before this is all over. I so miss sleeping on my belly:)

Here are some pictures from last night, 18 weeks. Not much has changed besides my ever flattening belly button. I think I am growing wider instead of out. I will probably take out my belly ring after my next doctor's appointment, I know its time! I was with my mom this weekend and she said, "Jeez, hold in you pot belly!" And then laughed and apologized, she said she just isn't used to seeing me with a belly.
