Baby 2.0: 13 weeks

>> Saturday, June 30, 2012

Good-bye first trimester, and hello one sick, sick momma! A little backwards, I think so too. The second trimester is supposed to restore your energy and be a few months of feeling somewhat normal...well, as normal as one can feel while growing a tiny human being.

The first day of my second trimester began with me retching in the kitchen sink, twice, on my way out the door to drop Jackson off at school.  Oh yes, it was a great start to the day and unfortunately, things went downhill from there.  Turns out I have bronchitis in this 100+ heat, in the middle of the summer.  I don't even know how I managed to come down with this, but it downright sucks! I was sent home from the urgent care with antibiotics and an inhaler...yes, I'm a bad off as my asthmatic son.

I'm resting up like no other and praying that I am well for our 4th of July vacation! I'm also praying that Jackson doesn't come down with this...or anyone else I know.

Size of Baby: peach

Total Weight Gain: no weight gain, actually down .5lbs from getting pregnant...which is still up 3lbs. from fertility.  I can thank bronchitis for the weight loss from our beach trip.

Continuing Symptoms: nothing to really note, being sick has pretty much taken over any pregnancy symptoms besides the morning retching this week.

New Symptoms This Week: well the retching in the sink was an all time first for me, hoping that was a one time deal.  maybe feeling little flutters here and there...not 100% sure yet though...

Maternity Clothes: not yet, thank goodness to cotton summer dresses. And somehow, my skinny jeans still fit.

Sleep: sleep is good, when I'm not up coughing my lungs up

What I'm Eating: soup and liquids, I hate being sick

Cravings: nothing this week

Movement: I think I may have started to feel some flutters, but they aren't strong enough for me to be totally sure.

Labor Signs: a few BH contractions on Wednesday night, but thankfully it was only one night

Special Pregnancy Moments: hearing the baby's heartbeat on my friend's dopple (165bpm) and getting my new momma mobile!!!

Baby 2.0: 12 weeks

I've totally abandoned the blog and I know I'm going to kick myself for letting this happen.

We've had such a busy month, which is really no excuse for not posting our happenings.

Jackson turned three, and I've yet to download the pictures to my computer. But, what's worse is that I went to the beach for a long weekend with work and only took two pictures. One of my feet in the sand and another of the ginormous waves. I missed my boys and cannot believe how much Jackson has grown lately.

Here's to seriously trying to get back on track and document the happenings of our crazy little life of three, until we are four! Y'all, please help me keep this up:)

Size of Baby: plum

Total Weight Gain: weight bounces between 0-2lbs., more on the 2lbs. side thank you very much to the beach trip, ice cream run and fried shrimps!

Continuing Symptoms: I'm actually starting to feel back to normal and more like myself.  I actually forget that I'm pregnant most days...until I look down and see my little bump.  The headaches hit fast and hard though and pretty much knock me down in a major way.

New Symptoms This Week: maybe feeling little flutters here and there...not 100% sure yet though...

Maternity Clothes: not yet, thank goodness to cotton summer dresses.  And somehow, my skinny jeans still fit.

Sleep: sleep is good, oh so good!

What I'm Eating: pretty much back to normal, coffee and all! I haven't noticed an increase in hunger like I had with Jackson.  However, when I am hungry I must eat!

Cravings: nothing this week

Movement: I think I may have started to feel some flutters, but they aren't strong enough for me to be totally sure.

Labor Signs: no ma'am!

Special Pregnancy Moments: looking at mommy mobiles for me:)

Baby 2.0: 10 Weeks

Size of Baby: prune

Total Weight Gain: weight bounces between 0-2lbs., good news is that I've yet to go above what I gained from the fertility treatments! Reducing my sodium intake has really helped to take off those fertility pounds.  The days my weight fluctuation is less are days when I can keep my sodium intake down.

Continuing Symptoms: slight nose congestion, extremely tired, frequent urination, round ligament pain and overall uterus stretching and cramping.

New Symptoms This Week: more emotional, but I think it's more due to Jackson's birthday. they grow up too fast!

Maternity Clothes: not yet, thank goodness to cotton summer dresses. however, I do have everything washed, pressed and hung for when the time comes.

Sleep: oh my am I sleepy! Wednesday night I was asleep at 6PM and every other night I am asleep shortly after Jackson goes to bed.

What I'm Eating: my appetite feels relatively normal, with random food aversions to salad and coffee...the coffee is a huge deal as I normally drink a few cups of black coffee daily.  I could pretty much each any bread or pasta and be a happy girl though!

Cravings: pasta and banana bread

Movement: not yet, just stretching and pulling feelings in my uterus

Labor Signs: no ma'am!

Special Pregnancy Moments: hearing the baby's sweet heart beat again this week!

The sweetest sound

This morning was our first OB appointment for sweet lil peanut 2.0!

It's hard to believe that just three short years ago, I was spending a good portion of my days in that very office being monitored for Jackson. And for a moment, it felt like only a flash of time passed and now we're here again for this precious gift from God.

All of the worry and anxiety and stress that our infertility journey has taken us through melted away from the forefront of my mind and heart.

Those feelings will always be somewhere, but for now, I have packed them away and am thanking God with all of my heart and soul.

Hearing our baby's heart beating 175 beats per minute at nearly 10 weeks finally put me at ease. This is really happening.

I think I may have hopped on to cloud 9 at that moment.

Mr.'s face was beaming too, gosh I love that man!

And Dr. F's excitement for us was exemplified when he told us to take out our phone and record the heart beat. I also love that man:)

I've been a terrible blogger lately, but I have the confidence now that I needed to jump back on track! I'll start my weekly photos and updates on Friday.

I'm thinking about doing those pregnancy quizzes, do any of y'all have one to share??? Photobucket

3 year well baby visit

>> Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Last Thursday was supposed to be a day dedicated solely to checking up on my babies. Unfortunately, I only got to see about my first baby because my doctor got stuck in emergency surgery.  My first OB appointment had to be rescheduled for tomorrow instead.

Jackson's appointment went amazing well, and speaking of well, it was his first well baby check-up in about 2.5 years! Man oh man have we come a long way with his health, thank you God!

Jackson weighes 36lbs. and is 37.5' tall, which puts him in the 87% for weight and 41% for height.  He's always been a little thicker than taller, just like his daddy:)

After checking out Jackson's sinuses and tonsils, his doctor thought for sure that we'd decided to go ahead with sinus surgery! He was surprised when I said we had not, we just finally had him healthy and under control.  Jackson's tonsils have returned to a normal size, his ears are clear and tubeless, and his sinuses are not infected!!! This is the first time he hasn't had a sinus infection in 2.5 years, y'all.  The months of antibiotics were hard, but obviously worth it.

Jackson got one quick shot before we were on our way! He cried for a minute, but was happily distracted by stickers and a promise of a popsicle:) I got all of his prescriptions refilled and a new spacer for his inhaler.  Now we'll be able to keep one at school and one in my purse, I've learned to never leave home without it!

Everything else was pretty routine.  Jackson is potty trained and right on track developmentally.  He just started in the Pre-K3 program at school and we're super excited that all is going so well! Jackson loves going to school and talks about seeing all of his friends and his teacher every Sunday night, and can't wait to see them the next morning.  I can't tell you what that means to us.  I feel like his little school is such a hidden jewel!

Happy boy with his stickers:)
