House chores?

While Jackson was playing with his magnetic farm on our dishwasher, he learned how to open the door. A big thanks to his aunt and uncle for this toy:) I was just getting used to the finger prints all over my stainless steel. It looks like I'll need to get baby locks for my appliances now.
My question to you is: Just how soon can you start your children on house chores?
If he can open the dishwasher and climb my cabinet doors, I think it may be time. I mean, it's never to early to start training them, right?!? ha!
What am I going to do with this kid:)

Speaking of dishwasher, I'm way paranoid, but I had this nightmare just a few weeks ago about my daughter putting her younger sibling in the dishwasher and turning it on. I'm pretty sure it was from when I watched CSI or something. OH, and I only have one child, talke about a worry wart!
Childproofing it is for you. :)
